I am officially in love with the weather here. It has been in the 60's and 70's the last few weeks. The kids love going to the beach, and we spent last Thursday and Friday flying kites, building sand castles, and having picnics. Carter had never flown a kite before and was very excited to watch Spiderman take off. He managed to unravel the entire ball of string and it wasn't until Spiderman was flying off on his own did I realize it was not tied to the end of the handle. Poor Carter was standing there, holding the plastic end piece, unsure of how to retrieve his kite. Once we caught it and tied it back on, he managed to completely let go, letting spiderman escape once again. It wasn't very windy, so he went running down the beach after it. On Friday Kendra met us at the beach to watch our kite flying skills and help build sand castles. Carter was more interested in drawing in the sand. After our beach picnic we went out for ice cream.
Last weekend we went to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. That evening everyone came back to my place for wine and a bonfire out on the deck. It was a beautiful night and we had a wonderful time. Ramsey even joined us for a while once he got home. This past weekend we all went hiking up a hill somewhere. It was beautiful, but quite hot. Mom called on Sunday afternoon as I was on the way to the beach to meet some friends to tell me it was in the 40's and raining in Minnesota. Bummer.
